Installing Custom Waves Plugin Settings
Aug 16, 2021
Once you have purchased the Waves plugins that we've used for your custom setting, you will need to use "Waves Central" to install and license those respective plugins. Waves Central is free Waves software that walks you through loading and authorizing each plugin on your PC or Mac.
The basic Waves custom processing preset by Lenny B usually uses the following Waves plugins; however, your custom setting may include other Waves plugins.
- The F6 Dynamic EQ by Waves
- The Scheps Omni Channel by Waves
Step #1
 - Save the .xps custom processing file(s) to your local computer. Do NOT open the .xps file(s). Proceed to the following step.
Step #2 - Open your DAW and open a version of the corresponding plugin from your DAW.
Step #3
 - You can drop the .xps file on the corresponding Waves plugin from your computer. For example, the F6 custom .xps file can be dropped onto the F6 plugin. The custom setting for that plugin will now be active on your iteration of the plugin on your machine.
Step #4
 - Once all custom settings are installed on the corresponding plugins, you must save the channel strip, effects rack, or session template to your local computer. This process depends on the DAW.
Getting The Best From Your Preset
Your recording level is critical to get the intended sound from the plugin & preset. Recording levels higher or lower than the intended range will modify the tone and dynamics of your voice. You will receive the expected sound from your custom preset by adhering to the following recording level guide. Adjust the recording level so that your recording level averages between -18db and -10db on the peak meter. It would be best if you never peaked over -6db (on your peak meter). I illustrate this in a YouTube video.
