STEP 1 — Prepare Your Audio

Please record clean, unprocessed audio:

• Connect your mic directly to your audio interface
• Use .wav format
• 3 minutes or less is an ideal length
• Leave 5 seconds of room tone at the end of your file
• Title your file with your full name

Recording Level Requirement

Your loudest peaks should reach –6 dB without going over. Lower is acceptable — but never exceed –6 dB. Your file may sound quiet. That’s normal — loudness comes later during processing. Need clarification on setting your level?

This script helps me understand your natural speaking voice and gives me the information I need to shape your custom sound. Please read the lines below out loud, then complete each open-ended thought in your own words. Speak naturally and be your authentic self.

Important: Please don’t edit out any noise or imperfections. I actually need to hear the raw environment — even the “ugly stuff” — so I can help you improve your capture if necessary. You will never be judged; this is only to help you get the cleanest, best sound possible.
